Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Charming 3-bedroom house in Beaufort. Fisherman and Hunters paradise. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
