Strategies to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Coocoo Cabana, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
