Our top Rental home tips:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Coocoo Cabana, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
