Havelock vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coocoo Cabana, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
