Rental home tips:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

How to select the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. DIRECT OCEANFRONT, UDPATED CONDO WITH AMAZING VIEWS! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
