Strategies to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Nina Street House, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
