Booking the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Havelock rental:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Nina Street House, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
