Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Healios, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
