How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing your prefect Havelock rental home:
- First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Emersands, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
