Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Emersands, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
