How to book the best Havelock rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. License to Chill, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
