Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by having your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Atlantic Beach, NC, Direct Beach Access, Path to Ocean on Property has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
