Strategies to get the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
