Getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by having your group commit to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your family.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
