Tricks and tips to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing the best Havelock rental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Fantastic spot for a solo or couples beach trip, steps from both beach & marina! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
