Croatan National Forest and Emerald Isle Woods Park reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Salty Pirate Water Park and Emerald Forest Golf. Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

• The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
• Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
• Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
• Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home.
