How to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1 bedroom condo at Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
