Tips to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 1 bedroom condo at Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Havelock attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
