Our top Beaufort vacation rental tips:
Finding your best deal:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Coral Cottage in Beaufort Historical District has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
