How to find the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. POOL & DOGS WELCOME! Easy Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
