Havelock vacation rental home tips:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Southwinds G17 - 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, Almost Oceanfront Condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
