Tricks and tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking your Havelock rental home:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Take Me A Wave - Pier Pointe 7A2, Emerald Isle, Oceanview, poolside second floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
