Surf, pier, and charter fishing (inlet and deep sea) is available year round. Fresh local seafood is served at many close by eateries and fish markets. Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the bestvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Unit 179 is a 2 BR\/2 ba condo on 1ST floor overlooking the pool & courtyard. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
